DD & THE FAYROHS
Going into their nineteenth year as a band, (that’s 76 years in band years) DD & The Fayrohs remain the most popular and most requested band booked by Black Hills Talent. The band does rock tunes from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80’s and some very select country. (One polka and one waltz, just because they can.) The group rounds out the sound with 4-part vocal harmonies.
As the opener for The Beach Boys' sold out concert at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in 1985, the band established a reputation as the first choice as opener for most major “oldies rock” shows in the area. The band has opened for Mitch Rider and the Detroit Wheels and Marshall Tucker as part of the Buffalo Chip Concert Series. DD & the Fayrohs have opened shows that include Sawyer Brown, Jerry Jeff Walker, Cheap Trick, REO Speedwagon and The Coasters. DD & The Fayrohs thrilled thousands as the opening act for the OAK RIDGE BOYS at the Central States Fair in 1998. For the last two years, DD and the Fayrohs have been the first act at Kool Deadwood Nights, opening up for The Association and Johnny Rivers in 1999, then opening for The Box Tops and Don McLean in 2000. Concert attendance per weekend is estimated at 10,000. The band is responsible for a large percentage of the Deadwood Kool Night crowd, and has been asked back for 2001.
DD & The Fayrohs is the rock nostalgia dance band of the Black Hills. Nineteen successful years is a rare feat in the entertainment industry. They could not have lasted this long without talent, hard work, a rare connection to their audience, and no offers for work in another field. So stay out past your curfew and dance to DD & the Fayrohs.
